I’m planning a brand new kitchen. How do I make it cool but also timeless?
I’ve never had a brand new kitchen, but I can totally understand the worry that must be involved in getting it right! It’s a big expense and big decisions, so it’s important to plan it carefully. I would research heavily when it came to the style. Set up a board on Pinterest and pin what you like, add pictures from Instagram or magazines and nail down exactly what your style is.
I’ve been saving pictures of kitchens - despite never actually having had a new one - for over a decade, and if I look back to my old plastic inspiration files (yes, life before Pinterest), they still have the same key theme.
The more you research, the more you are likely to drill it down. Hardware and paint can transform the look so I would go for a kitchen that can move with the times. Remember that you can change the look with colour, accessories and art, so keep the bones of the space - the expensive stuff like flooring and cupboards – simple.
