Really dark room at home. How to paint it to get more light?

Dark rooms are a very delicate topic, and lots of time people get discouraged in front of such a task. 

When you have to deal with a room that has a lack of natural light you can choose two ways of handling it: go embrace the light or choose the dark side. And no, resignation is not an option. Most of the time dark rooms are the most surprising rooms, if you really take care of them and make you feel cozy and comfortable. 

The simple way is to embrace the light: if white is not your thing (white is a complex color and not for everybody) there are lots of neutral paints on the market, charming and capable to revamp and warm up even the most obscure spaces. 

Do you feel outraged and want to choose the dark side? Go for it and choose a palette done by dark blues, or maybe olive greens and different shades of gray. You will 

Lighting is super important in case of a room with poor natural light, especially if you go for the dark you will need an abundance of hot lighting arrangement. And one or more mirrors. Don’t forget the mirror. They will reflect the artificial light and make the room bigger.
